This year, our feckless world will generate 2.6 trillion pounds of garbage—the weight of about 7,000 empire state buildings—a number is forecasted to triple by 2100. While economist and policy makers have begun to see the limits of the linear economic model, a 19th century paradigm, future-oriented creative thinkers have already rejected the “box” in favor of the “circle.” By prioritizing a restorative approach to ecological, social, and economic needs, the circular economy is transforming our future.
